Recently, Cascade worked with a coalition of business, labor and angling advocates. As part of the campaign, we spoke to the 300+ members at the Washington Building and Construction Trades Council Conference. Without question, union members in the Northwest are interested in both fish AND jobs.
Jobs and the foundation for those jobs - - clean, carbon-free hydro-power and the economy that it supports - - and how to best ensure strong fish runs in the Pacific Northwest. The science of the past twenty years is clear: there are key steps we can and should take to recover salmon runs and protect our ecology.
We need a balanced approach.
The campaign generated over 4,500 emails to Pacific Northwest and National policymakers.
